Frequently Asked Questions
-
ILESO DESIGN is a small independent lamp project based in Madrid. It is currently run by one person: an architecture student designing, prototyping, making, photographing and packing lamps from a small room-workshop.
-
At the moment, every lamp is made by me, Diego. I design the pieces, test the prototypes, prepare the 3D prints, assemble the components, photograph the products and pack each order myself.
-
The lamps are designed and assembled in Madrid, Spain, in a small room-workshop. It is not a large production studio, more like a personal design project slowly growing into something real.
-
Yes, in the sense that each lamp is produced, assembled and checked by hand in small batches. Some parts are digitally designed and 3D printed, but the full process still involves a lot of manual testing, finishing, fitting and assembly.
-
Partly, yes. The base and some diffuser elements are 3D printed, which allows me to test forms, textures and proportions at full scale without needing large industrial production.
-
The lamps are made with a 3D-printed PLA, some use hand-blown glass diffusers, all use a textile cable and warm LED bulbs. Materials may vary slightly between future designs, so each product page includes its own details.
-
Not completely. Because the lamps are produced in small batches, small variations in texture, colour, surface finish or dimensions may appear. I see these small differences as part of the objects identity, not as defects.
-
The glass diffusers should be handled with care, just like any glass lighting object. Each lamp is packed carefully for shipping, but once received, it should be placed on a stable surface and kept away from knocks, water and excessive heat.
-
The lamps a warm, soft light. It is designed more for atmosphere than for strong task lighting, so it works well on a bedside table, shelf, desk corner or living room side table.
-
Yes, JUMPA includes a warm LED light source. The current setup uses 2700K warm light and approximately 408 lumens. Future designs will also include the bulb, but the specs may vary. All the technical details will be listed in the product page.
-
In general, yes. Check the specific product page for each lamp. If a lamp uses a replaceable bulb, the compatible bulb type and maximum wattage will be listed there.
-
At the moment, the lamps are intended for Spain/EU use only. If you want to use one in another country, please contact me before ordering so I can confirm compatibility.
-
No. Unless clearly stated otherwise, ILESO lamps are designed for indoor use only.
-
Some lamps may be ready to ship, while others may be made in small batches or produced after ordering. The product page will always show the current availability.
-
Because ILESO is still a very small project. I prefer to produce slowly, test properly and avoid making more pieces than I can realistically assemble, check and pack with care.
-
Possibly. Some designs may return in new batches, while others may stay limited. If a lamp is sold out, you can contact me or follow ILESO DESIGN for updates.
-
You can always ask. I cannot promise every custom request will be possible, but I am open to hearing ideas, especially for colours, finishes or small variations.
-

-
No. A donation is not a product order and does not include a lamp or any physical item. It is simply a way to support the project.
-
Donations help with materials, failed prints, prototypes, packaging tests, tools, website costs and the slow process of developing new lamps.
-
Use a soft dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh cleaning products, alcohol, abrasive sponges or too much water.
-
Place it on a stable indoor surface, away from water, direct heat, direct flame and places where it could easily be knocked over.
-
The lamp uses LED lighting, which produces less heat than traditional bulbs. Still, like with any electrical object, it should be used responsibly and turned off when not needed or when leaving home for long periods.
